Other printable worksheets to support reading development include word searches and instructions for creating mini-books. Another worksheet, titled 'Ouch!', asks kids to complete a story by predicting what they think will occur next.

Abcteach's Reading Activities

Abcteach has resources, including worksheets, tests and reading passages, to help your child practice reading. You can start by giving your child the Language Arts Testing Practice Level 1 assessment to identify his or her strengths and weaknesses. The test covers reading, vocabulary and grammar skills. An answer key is provided.

Informational reading comprehension worksheets are available on such topics as the Iditarod, skateboarding and spiders. Reading passages are followed by multiple-choice and short answer questions. You can also find book report forms, which ask reading comprehension questions about setting, characters and action.

Have Fun Teaching's Reading Worksheets

Have Fun Teaching offers printable reading worksheets on a variety of subjects.
