Texas Education Agency's Practice Exams

Depending on what state you live in and where your child goes to school, he or she may be required to take standardized exams on core education standards. Many of these exams for 3rd graders focus on math and English/language arts. These assessments can be used to determine your child's placement as well as the state and national ranking of your child's school.

Downloadable examples of 3rd grade state assessment tests are available from the Texas Education Agency. You can print exams and administer them to your child at home for practice. The Texas Education Agency releases exams every three years. The ones that you can currently download for your child are from 2009. Even if you don't live in Texas, they are prime examples of what to expect from a state assessment test.

Math Worksheets from Helping With Math

Helping With Math offers a lot of worksheets and quizzes that can help your child, whether he or she is preparing for a state assessment or just an everyday test. The worksheet topics include geometry, multiplication, division and fractions.

Some of the worksheets are randomly generated, so every time you open a new practice worksheet for your child, it will be completely different. There's also a number of other math learning tools on the site, such as charts, tables, flashcards, games and math fact memorization systems.
