Doing your own research will provide you with deeper knowledge of the material, and that can lead to better grades on the tests.
Take Detailed Notes
As stated previously, you'll be receiving a great deal of information about various biology concepts, so it's important to take detailed notes. Taking notes will help you in several ways. First, it will help you pay attention in class. You'll be focused on the presentations in class, and will have a better chance to remember and comprehend what's been taught.
