North Dakota GED Requirements:
Eligibility
Individuals must meet the following requirements in order to take the GED exam www.adultliteracy.org:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older (age requirements may vary, check with your local testing center for more details)
- Must be a resident of North Dakota
- Must have withdrawn from a regular high school program for at least six months
- Not a high school graduate
Exam Format
The exam consists of five different subject sections taken over seven and a half hours:
- Language Arts - Writing
- A 45 minute essay question.
- Language Arts - Reading
- Mathematics (Part 1 and 2)
- A calculator may be used on Part 1 only.
- Science
- Social Studies
Scoring
The score ranges from a minimum of 200 to a maximum of 800 on each subject section. The minimum required on each section is 410. The total minimum required for all subject sections is 2050. Individuals may retake all or part of the exam until a passing score is achieved.
Registration and Fees
Registration must be completed at any North Dakota testing center. Each testing center has its own fee schedule; contact your local facility for inquiries. Remember to bring photo ID along with your social security number and proof of residency.
