Online Resources

There are many online resources available to help you prepare for the GED test. Even though the test is not available online, online instructional courses are great ways to build confidence and prepare for the actual exam. Online preparation courses and materials allow the flexibility of being available whenever you have the time to study.

Look for Online GED Prep Courses

Each state offers its own online prep course, and the best way to find them is by contacting your state's Department of Education either by website or telephone. Those lucky enough to reside in a state like Illinois have access to GED preparation online, www.ilcco.net. Some private companies offer GED courses to individuals looking to improve their scores in one or more subject areas.

Try a Practice Test

According to info.com, there are a number of practice tests on the Internet. It really doesn't matter which one you choose, but remember to attempt at least two. Why two? Taking an extra practice exam can expose you to material that the first may not have covered. The extra practice may make the difference when the time comes to take the actual GED exams. If you pass a particular area on both exams by a substantial margin, you may safely assume that you can spend your time on other subject areas.

Check out a free practice test such as the one at TestPrepReview www.testprepreview.com, but remember not to rely solely on the results of that one test to determine whether you are prepared in a particular area. Remember, the GED was substantially changed in 2002 and tests prior to that are now out-of-date.
