Help your Child with Spelling
Proper spelling is a key component of great writing. Read on to learn more about how you can help your child with his or her spelling.
A high percentage of children find spelling difficult. Having trouble with spelling can lower your child's educational enjoyment.
You can help your child with the following activities:
- Fridge Magnets. Spell out words with fridge magnets so your child constantly sees the words they know.
- Compile a list of words that your child knows and then play games with those words.
- Put the words in alphabetical order.
- Try to use two words in a sentence.
- Play word finding games with old magazines or newspapers.
- Choose a word that your child is trying to learn and have them circle it anywhere in a magazine article.
- Make up games to show your child the difference between words that look similar.
