The results of state-wide assessment tests are used to see whether students are learning the math, reading, science, and other subject skills that the state outlines in their educational objectives.
By testing you and your peers, education professionals are able to determine if teachers and schools are effective in teaching these subjects. The state is able to compare the scores of different schools to see if one school is performing significantly better or worse than other schools in the same area. This helps each school examine the effectiveness of its educational programs.
