Beginning Multiplication Worksheets for Kids

Many elementary students enter middle school without mastering their multiplication tables. To increase your child's math confidence and problem-solving speed, it's helpful to provide as much multiplication practice as he or she needs. Visit the following sites for beginning multiplication worksheets.

Free Multiplication Worksheets at MathDrills.com

Math Drills offers hundreds of multiplication worksheets for beginners. For starters, consider giving your son or daughter one row of a worksheet per day for supplemental practice. Each worksheet in the multiples of 2 category, for example, is organized so that one row of problems covers 0 x 2 through 7 x 2. The second row reviews the exact same problems, but changes the placement of the target number (e.g., 2 x 0 and 2 x 7). Once your child has mastered his or her times tables, check out the multiplication grids that can be used as timed 5-minute drills.

Worksheets are categorized by which integers are being multiplied and by a maximum answer value (e.g., problems with solutions up to 144). You can target your child's at-home practice to specific areas. Each worksheet appears onscreen as a PDF file, with an answer key at the end of the document. The administrator of this site responds to user's suggestions, so if there's a particular type of multiplication worksheet you think would be helpful for your son or daughter, you can e-mail a request.
