Comprehension Websites for Kids

Every time your child reads a text, whether it's for school or for pleasure, he or she is working on reading comprehension skills. You can enhance your child's reading experience by asking him or her questions about the text and encouraging critical thinking. Using reading help websites can also be a solid way for your child to become a stronger reader by practicing at home.

In order for the interactives to work, you'll need a recent version of Adobe Flash installed on your computer. One comprehension-related student interactive is the literary elements map, which will help your child break down the parts of a story or book.
