Help ME Do My Math Homework: Online Math Resources

Looking for some help reviewing math at home? Plenty of websites offer written and video tutorials, which give you the chance to go over math concepts before doing your homework or taking tests. Check out these sites for lessons on various math topics.

Dr. Math's Homework Tutorials

Dr. Math allows you to ask math questions and get written explanations from a college-level math student. You also can scan the frequently asked questions to see if your problem has already been answered.

A wealth of information is available on a wide range of math topics. There's even a quick reference section that allows you to click on your level (elementary, middle, high school, etc.) or browse by topics.

If you decide to ask your own question, keep in mind that the math tutors won't answer questions that have already been answered on the site. Also, responses aren't instantaneous; so don't ask a question and expect an answer for tomorrow's class.

Discovery Education's Video Math Lessons

If you like more visual homework help, you can watch the video tutorials available for free from Discovery Education. These videos, which resemble cartoon TV shows, will show you methods from addition and subtraction to long division and double-digit multiplication. Each video is just a couple of minutes long, so you can watch a few of them in 20 minutes or less in order to review a broad topic, like multiplication. These videos are more helpful for studying for tests or reviewing chapters, rather than for specific homework problem help.

Free Math Lessons from AAAmath.com

If you're looking for written interactive lessons, AAA Math might be right for you. Here you'll find explanations of dozens of math topics from kindergarten through 8th grade, including fractions, exponents, geometry, algebra, multiplication and division.

Lessons sometimes use cartoon numbers and pictures to help explain a topic, but overall these lessons are similar to the ones found in your school books. Free unlimited practice questions for each unit are available online. You can also buy CDs and workbook from the website, if you want to practice more on the computer.
