Geometry Worksheets from HelpingWithMath.com

Eighth grade math introduces students to some of the concepts that will be important in high school geometry class, like the Pythagorean Theorem and plotting coordinates. Review these concepts using HelpingWithMath.com's free worksheets. Nearly 20 geometry worksheets are offered, as well as a chart on squares and square roots. The worksheets are printable and come with answers. None of them can be completed online. You'll find worksheets dealing with similar triangles, vector translations, missing angles and congruent figures.

Kuta Software's Pre-algebra Worksheets

Here, you can choose from dozens of free, printable pre-algebra worksheets on topics ranging from number theory to systems of equations. Your child may not cover all the units listed here in his or her eighth grade math class, but the worksheets on the Pythagorean Theorem, linear functions and advanced arithmetic can supplement textbook sample problems.

Understanding topics, like algebraic expressions and graphing coordinates, can take quite a bit of practice at first. Since many of these ideas will return with greater complexity in high school, plenty of math review worksheets can help lay a solid foundation for future achievement in math.

Lessons from MathGoodies.com

The pages here focusing on pre-algebra provide written explanations for mathematic concepts, like the order of operations with integers and exponents, and online practice problems. These are handy because your child can read the lesson, answer the questions and immediately find out whether he or she got the correct answer. An added bonus is that you won't have to do any correcting. Many of the practice problems on this site deal with writing and evaluating algebraic expressions. Additional math resources are sold here on CDs, but the written lessons and online questions are completely free.
