Fifth Grade CRCT Practice Test
The CRCT (Criterion-Referenced Competency Test) is administered to 1st-8th grade students in Georgia. Fifth graders are tested in science, social studies, reading, English/language arts and math. Keep reading for information on CRCT fifth grade practice tests.
The CRCT is given to students in Georgia every spring. Your child's teacher will prepare him or her for the test by teaching a curriculum aligned with the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) and providing test preparation activities. Your child can also take 5th grade CRCT practice tests at home. When taking practice tests, children get used to the types of problems asked on the test and practice sitting and concentrating through a long, challenging test.
Help from the Georgia Department of Education
The Georgia Department of Education offers a free fifth grade study guide in PDF format. The study guide provides an overview of the CRCT, its purpose and how it's scored. Then, each subject on the test has a chapter divided into subsections. For example, the chapter on science covers the earth, physical and life sciences. Each chapter also has a practice quiz and an answer key.
In addition to the study guides, the Georgia Department of Education provides free test practice materials through the Online Assessment System (OAS). Your child might receive a personal login name and password from school. If not, you can use 'grade5', which is a generic login and password provided by the site. You may need to disable your pop-up blocker. Once you and your child are logged in, you will instantly see the practice exams. There are several exams available for every subject, so your child will likely get all the practice that he or she needs.
Tests from Unity Grove Elementary School
For additional fifth grade CRCT practice tests, check out the Unity Grove Elementary School website. They have uploaded PDF files of four CRCT tests for each fifth grade subject. The test questions for each individual subject are divided into useful subsections, not unlike the Georgia Department of Education's study guide. For math, the subsections include computation, estimation, probability and algebra, among others.
Ola Elementary School's Additional Practice
Ola Elementary School is another useful source for CRCT practice questions. It provides mostly the same materials offered by Unity Grove Elementary School. You can expect each practice test to have around 25 questions for your fifth grader to complete, as well as answer keys.
