ABCya.com's Variety of Games

At ABCya.com, you can find a game for just about every subject. In all of the games, academic exercises are thinly veiled by technology and colorful designs, which makes them fun and worthwhile. In the Letters section, 'Ice Cream Talk' helps kids identify nouns and verbs. 'Word Clouds' challenges kids to pay attention to word choice in a unique and creative way. Students can even practice their writing skills by creating a friendly letter in 'The Letter Maker.'

The Numbers section features math-related games. Although some games may be aimed at students who are below the fifth grade level, your child may still be challenged by games like 'Percent Panic.' Other topics, including the Food Pyramid, geography and pattern recognition, are covered in the More section at the bottom.

Math, Science and Reading Games at Just Kids Games

You can find games for third through sixth grade in math, science and reading at Just Kids Games. Each game is clearly labeled with the grade level and the subject, along with a brief description about the game to capture kids' attention. Many of the games include real-world applications as well. For instance, the game called 'Go for the Goal' incorporates soccer and science using angles and speed. There are also many themed crossword and word search puzzles, or your child can create a puzzle of her own.

Funschool.com's Interactive Games

There's a selection of educational games at FunSchool.com for fifth and sixth graders. The games cover geography, language, math and science. In fifth grade, students learn to add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators, so the game 'Action Fraction' is perfect for review. Students must solve fraction equations quickly to make their race car drive faster.

There's likely a game to help with any subject that your child is struggling with. 'Anagram Sleuth,' for instance, is a spelling game that can help your child practice spelling new words by rearranging letters. In addition, students can learn about other educational topics. For example, your child can discover what animals eat in the game called 'Pet Party' or learn different recipes in the Family Activities section.
