How Can I Help My Fourth Grader Practice?

To adequately prepare for a spelling bee, your child should practice spelling words that are at least two levels above his or her current grade. Although sample word lists help students practice spelling, most spelling bees test students on words outside of the study list. Several websites offer free word lists and practice resources by grade level for your son or daughter to review. For example, some sites play audio clips of words while students type the answer, and others list commonly misspelled and misused words to brush up on.
