Free Math Problems Kids Can Do Online

Although practice problems are most likely provided in your child's math textbook, he or she may need more practice to really master each math unit. You may want to check out the following websites for free study materials.

Games from

Your child may not wish to do additional math 'homework' after school, but these free online games may be appealing, since they hardly feel school-related. These games require kids to use math skills in inventive ways. One game on the site, called 'Sugar, Sugar,' helps children learn about angles and basic geometric forms by using the computer mouse to make falling sugar granules land in a particular place. Other games require the same special puzzle-solving abilities as the Rubik's cube. By playing these games, your child can increase her math skills without feeling like she is doing schoolwork.

KidZone Free Worksheets

Here, you'll find free, printable math worksheets on a variety of math topics. Elementary students may enjoy coloring the pictures on these worksheets as well as completing the problems. With large letters and one main homepage section to describe what's available, this site is easy to navigate. Rather than having a lot of sounds or distracting graphics, the site uses a basic format to tell you what's available and make it easy for you to find the right worksheet for your child. These worksheets are designed to be printed, so they cannot be completed online. Problems are offered for kindergarteners up to fifth graders.

Online Math Problems from

Your child can complete individual math problems here, based on his skill level. All the problems are Internet-based so no correcting is necessary. Colorful images, encouraging messages and sounds help motivate kids to continue answering more questions. You can choose from topics in early math (kindergarten through second grade) all the way up to pre-algebra. One question appears on the screen at a time, and your child can answer it either with or without a clock running. Using the timed setting can help prepare your child for quizzes and tests at school.
