Math Games from CoolMath.com

Sometimes studying and completing math drills can become tiresome for children. If your child needs a more lively way to practice math, the free online games offered here may be useful. While they have many games on all different math subjects, several focus on multiplication and division. The games are in the style of early computer games and feature animations of wild creatures and sports intended to appeal to children's interests.

One game, called 'Crazy Taxi M-12', uses a racecar setting to ask multiplication questions. In order to avoid crashing into other racing cars, the player must correctly answer questions about multiples.

Online Activities from SheppardSoftware.com

Over a dozen multiplication and division games are available here for free. The games use all different music and images to engage children. Some games ask children to complete equations. Other games ask players to identify multiples and the correct answers to division problems. Some special features include the ability to e-mail scores to a teacher and playing with a timer on, which may be a good way to prepare for multiplication and division tests at school.

Free Resources from Multiplication.com

A variety of free educational activities are offered here, from flashcards to games and quizzes. The flashcards come in two formats: online and printable PDF files. The online flashcards are self-correcting. The printable cards come in large type and are made to be the size of actual playing cards (or even larger). Dotted lines indicate where you can cut the cards out. These activities deal solely with multiplication, so you'll have to look elsewhere for division practice.

With many tools are offered, it may take a few moments to find your way around the site. One trick is to look under the tab marked 'Resources' on the homepage, where everything is neatly organized.
