Online Tests from EDinformatics

When your child is preparing for standardized tests, EDinformatics can be a valuable resource. This site provides free information about standardized tests from a number of different states. It also has free practice exams that your child can take on the website. Alternatively, you can find links to practice standardized tests and testing information from state education departments around the country. If your state doesn't offer free practice exams, try using an exam from a different state; however, make sure that the test covers the same subjects.

The Texas Education Agency's Released Tests

It's possible that your state's education department makes practice tests based on your state's education standards. Your state may also offer released exams from previous years that your child can use for practice. If, however, your state doesn't offer released tests, you can give your child released math and reading exams provided by the Texas Education Agency. The Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) released exams will help your child practice math, reading and science in a typical multiple-choice format. The released TAKS exams may also help you assess your child's readiness for standardized tests.

Free Elementary School Quizzes from Quiz-Tree

At Quiz-Tree's website, your child can take a plethora of practice quizzes and tests. This website covers a wide variety of subjects, like math, reading, writing, social studies, science and music. There's also a section dedicated to standardized tests.

To get started at Quiz-Tree, simply click the subject that you wish to find quizzes for. You'll be taken to a page where you can select a more specific category. For example, the math page contains sections for elementary math, units of measurement, fractions, rounding numbers, order of operations and geometry. Then, you can select the specific quiz topic for your child.

Some of the quizzes can only be accessed by members of the website. However, you can register for free. As a member, you can also track your child's scores and receive a newsletter.
