If you're looking for solid, detailed guidance in math, Math Nerds may be able to help you. You or your child will need to register on this site before proceeding; however, registration doesn't cost anything, and you won't receive spam. The site requires registration to keep track of how many users it has and what those users need.

Math Nerds is unique in that it provides users with direct, personal assistance with homework, test practice and other math-related queries. Your child can submit questions and requests and will receive a response within 24 hours from the staff of volunteer tutors. These tutors are either current education students or trained education professionals who simply want to help kids.

Read Write Think's English/Language Arts Lessons

For free lessons in English/language arts, consider Read Write Think. This site is designed to help kids with grammar rules as well as organizing, summarizing, writing and analyzing texts. The site is comprised of a series of learning tools called 'student interactives'. You'll need to have Adobe Flash installed on your computer, since a lot of the student interactives are Flash-based.

Help with Science from Fact Monster

Fact Monster offers a plethora of options for science help. The homework help portion of the site is divided into earth, life, physical and technological sciences. Each section includes several subsections your child can choose from. For example, the life sciences section is divided into these categories: animals, zoology, biology, plants, botany and a category called 'Just for Fun'. The science encyclopedia provides a lot of useful information, as well.

Fact Monster also has games, quizzes, links, a dictionary, an atlas and dozens of almanacs. Your child can also use Fact Monster for information on a variety of other subjects, in addition to science.
