Reading Is Fundamental's Games and Activities

Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is a non-profit children's literacy organization that offers primary reading activities and games. The easy-to-navigate site features an activity lab, where primary kids can select a story, print it and draw illustrations to go with it.

The games station features fun ways to practice reading skills. Kids can play Supermarket Spree by reading a grocery list and picking out the items. Bilingual games include Alphabet Soup, an interactive word-search, and Picture Bars, a word matching game.

In the book zone, kids can watch animated stories and listen to songs. They can also chose from a wide selection of books to read online. The stories can be selected by subject and feature an online dictionary to boost vocabulary skills.

Primary Games' Word Exercises

Primary Games has word searches and crosswords to practice spelling and vocabulary. In I Spy, kids read a simple story to learn the highlighted vocabulary words. Story Links has online children's books. Farm Animals is a free online talking book that allows kids to click on words and hear them spoken.
