In What State Do Children Take The TASS Reading Test For Fourth Grade?

In the world of education acronyms, standardized tests acronyms can be even more confusing to parents than other acronyms. Over the course of a school year, your child may take a barrage of standardized tests, all of which come with their own acronym. To make matters more confusing, sometimes test names change, so a test your child took last year might be called something totally different the next year.

Given all these variables, you may be wondering where the TASS reading test for fourth grade fits in. There is no TASS test, but you may be thinking of the TAAS (Texas Assessment of Academic Skills) test, which sounds similar. Unfortunately, the TAAS now goes by a new name. Children in Texas now take the TAKS (Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills) beginning in third grade.

You can find out more about the TAKS reading test for fourth grade by visiting the webpage of Texas state representative Scott Hochberg. This site has a practice test, which your child can complete while preparing for the TAKS.
