The lesson plans cover many topics, including grammar, research, spelling, fluency and metacognition. A typical lesson plan includes student objectives, several sections detailing the lesson itself and ways to assess your child's progress once the lesson is over. You can also find information about the education standards that it's based on as well as preparation resources.

Reading Is Fundamental's Comprehension Activities and Games

Reading Is Fundamental's Reading Planet website offers a wide variety of comprehension learning tools that you and your third grader may find useful. Reading Planet is comprised of four main sections that include games, activities, books and ways that your child can express him or herself. Your child can join the site for free for extra features, like contests, e-cards and the ability to vote on what goes on at Reading Planet's site.
