Fact Monster's Homework Center

Fact Monster offers homework help resources to a number of grade levels and in many subjects. The subjects include English/language arts, math, science, social studies, history and geography. You can also use the homework center's skill builders for studying, writing, research, speaking and listening.

Every part of the site is categorized using subcategories, so you'll likely be able to find help that will specifically meet your needs. The history section, for example, is divided into the following topics: science and technology history, world history, wars and U.S. history, presidents and documents.

English/Language Arts Help from Discovery Education

Discovery Education's site provides assistance with English/language arts homework through its 'video chapters'. Video chapters are simply streaming video clips that you can watch covering grammar, writing and mechanics. For example, there is a clip in the K-2 mechanics section called 'Punctuation President'. It teaches basic punctuation through the telling of the story of Abraham Lincoln.

Math Help from MathNerds

If you're struggling with math homework, MathNerds can provide free, personal math assistance, which is often rare online. MathNerds employs volunteer tutors who are all education professionals or education students in training. Although registration is required, it's free of charge.

When requesting assistance from MathNerds, it's probably best to do your homework in advance. This is because it generally takes about 16 hours to get a response. When you e-mail MathNerds a question, you will receive more than an answer as a response. The purpose of MathNerds is to help you work out solutions with the assistance of free mini-lessons. Rather than simply helping you complete your work, MathNerds will help you be prepared for when you encounter similar problems.
