Students create poems by filling in various parts of speech, such as adjectives and nouns. In order for these interactives to function properly, you'll need to have a current version of Adobe Flash installed on your computer.

Language Arts Resources from Education Place

The grammar and vocabulary practice available from Houghton Mifflin's Education Place includes eight units of 8th grade grammar enrichment activities. One activity, called Noun Draw, helps kids classify the different types of nouns, such as proper nouns and collective nouns, in a fun and engaging way. Similarly, Pronoun Checkers is an entertaining game that teaches kids about personal, possessive, reflexive and indefinite pronouns. After your 8th grader reviews with these activities, use Education Place's quizzes to test his or her understanding. You will find ten quizzes on 8th grade topics, including nouns, pronouns, verbs and modifiers.
