Sample Test Questions from the California Department of Education

The California Department of Education offers many sample math problems from past standardized tests, which your child may use in preparing for exams. You'll see problems on decimals and percentages, rational numbers, fractions and algebraic expressions. The questions are separated into groups based on which core mathematics standard they cover. As a result, all the same types of problems are grouped together. This organization should make it simple to target your child's weakest units.

Regardless of where you live, many of the questions should match up with your child's textbook. All the problems on these tests are multiple choice, and the tests cannot be completed online. However, answer keys are provided at the end.

Online Review from Math-Tests.com

These four online quizzes provide a paper-free way for your son or daughter to review before math exams. Each of the tests contains timers that count back from 30 minutes when the test is opened. A single problem appears in the window and you must answer it before viewing the next problem. Immediately after entering an answer and pressing enter, a sound and a message will come up letting you know whether you were correct.

Each of the four quizzes deals with a specific topic, such as adding integers and finding points on a graph. Although this isn't the place to look for a thorough 7th grade math review, the timed, online tests can serve as a quick review.

Math-Aids.com's Worksheets

These worksheet generators allow you to create practice worksheets tailored to your child's needs. You can even use the worksheets as practice tests before a big test at school. You can select from many categories and math units, including geometry, graphing, factors and fractions. All the worksheets are printable and come with answers.
