7th Grade Math Workbook: Exercises and Answers
Children who prepare for an upcoming school year by studying over the summer often do well in school. By reviewing old information and previewing new concepts, children keep their minds sharp and focused. The following websites offer free math exercises to help your 7th grader maintain and improve his or her math skills.
Math Problems from IXL Learning
This site provides online math problems, which are organized by math topics, such as number theory, decimals and fractions. Use these categories to give your 7th grader targeted math practice. Several dozen topics are available for practice, and they are arranged with 27 main subject headings and many subheadings under each of these. Some of the subtopics of geometry, for instance, are interior angles of polygons, similar and congruent figures and classifying quadrilaterals.
This site saves your scores and increases the difficulty of the questions after you've answered several problems correctly in a row. When your child gets a right answer, a check mark and the word 'correct' will appear onscreen. One of the handy aspects of this site is that when your child enters an incorrect answer, the correct answer will immediately appear with an option to view an explanation.
AAA Math's Lessons
Your son or daughter can read written lessons on a wide range of 7th grade math topics here. After reading the lesson, your child can answer practice questions on the online problem generator. The lessons vary in length from a single brief paragraph to several paragraphs. Some of the topics you'll find lessons on are positive and negative integers, decimals, percents, ratios and measurement.
These lessons may be helpful if your child finds his or her math textbook confusing. Sometimes it can help to hear a different explanation of a certain concept.
7th Grade Games from MathPlay.com
If your child could use some extra math practice, but isn't showing much enthusiasm for his or her schoolbook, these free online math games might be a good solution. Your child can practice skills like identifying coordinates on a graph, dividing fractions and measuring angles. Each game has a description, so you can find a game that meets your child's individual needs.
