3rd Grade Practice EOG Tests
North Carolina students in the 3rd grade take the EOG (End of Grade) test in reading comprehension and math. Read on for information about resources that can help your 3rd grader be prepared when test day comes.
Since grade three is the first year that students take the EOG test, the Public Schools of North Carolina provide a pretest. This pretest lets teachers and parents determine if students are ready for the actual test and prepare extra practice activities. Additionally, it helps 3rd graders get used to the format of the test.
Released Tests from the Public Schools of North Carolina
You can find out the specific skills your child needs to study by having him or her complete an EOG practice activity. The Public Schools of North Carolina have specifically made this available to 3rd graders so they can prepare for the pretest and the final EOG test.
Shortly before the EOG, you can give your child sample test questions, which are also provided by the Public Schools of North Carolina. When your child answers sample questions like these, he or she will get used to the types of questions that are asked on the EOG. The questions are PDF files, so you can download and print them.
Horizon Elementary School's Practice Exams
Your child's elementary school's website may provide either EOG practice questions or links to sites that do. If not, check out sites like Horizon Elementary School's. At Horizon's site, you'll find links to practice exams for the math and reading sections of the EOG.
More Released Tests from the Georgia Department of Education
If you would like to give your child more practice tests, you may want to check out standardized tests from other states. These can be helpful because learning standards tend to be very similar from state to state.
If your child isn't going to school in Georgia, you can still log in to Georgia's 'Online Assessment System' without a name or password. Simply enter 'grade3' into the name and password fields and you'll have full access to the practice tests.
