Free Math Test's Resources

Free Math Test has math tests and worksheets on many skills, including counting, math facts and comparisons. You'll find the headings 'Fundamental Math,' 'Elementary Math' and 'Pre-Algebra' on the homepage. Under each of these categories are links to more specific topics. In the 'Pre-Algebra' section, for example, you'll see links for multiplying integers, simplifying expressions and comparing absolute values. Once you click on a topic, you'll be brought to a new page where you can select a level of difficulty. These tests must be taken online and are scored upon completion.

Create Your Own Math Tests

Abridge Technology, a consulting company that offers training and other services in areas like process improvement and project management, offers a math test generator, which may be useful if you want to target a particular math skill and customize the test. For instance, you can decide how many horizontal and vertical rows will appear.

This site has two pages: one for basic math and one for advanced math. The basic math page allows you to create tests for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. On the more advanced page, you can make tests with questions on square roots and exponents in addition to the basic math operations. These tests are made to be printed and cannot be completed online. You can print out answer keys for each test.

Free Math Problems from ThatQuiz

Your child can use these online quizzes to assess his abilities in various areas of math. Some of the units that can be tested here include greater than and less than, averages, algebra and arithmetic. The quizzes are made to be completed online, and a built-in clock is included. The clock starts when a first answer is typed in and the 'enter' key is pressed. The time starts at zero and goes up. This means that when your child uses this timer, unlike traditional timers that count down, she is only racing herself. If you have your child record how fast he completed a quiz each time, you can keep track of his progress.
